Any Night of the Week - Walking Tours for Doors Open

I'll be leading two free Toronto music history walking tours as part of Doors Open Toronto on May 28, as part of this year's programming that showcases Toronto as a city of sound.

Tour #1 (12pm) will take us up Yonge Street and tour #2 (3pm) will be a stroll down Queen West.

Sign up here!

Yonge: Join author and concert presenter Jonny Dovercourt for a guided tour of Toronto's original music venue strip. Once a raucous, neon-bathed wonderland, Yonge Street was a hotspot for rock'n'roll and R&B venues like Le Coq d'Or and Club Bluenote, birthing the city’s modern-day music scene in the 1950s and 60s. Meet the ghosts of concert spaces past and peek into the future of Toronto's live music scene in front of the newly refurbished Massey Hall and Allied Music Centre.

QW: Join author and concert presenter Jonny Dovercourt for a guided tour of the former ground zero for the punk, new wave and reggae music explosions of the 1970s. Queen West laid the groundwork for the alternative, indie and electronic music booms of the 80s, 90s, and 00s with iconic venues such as the Rivoli, the Horseshoe Tavern and Cameron House.
