Wavelength…. the long-awaited new WEBSITE.
Websites are not dead! Sure, they may not be as interactive as social media, but at least we own them, and our content has a more permanent place to call home. Wavelength has just relaunched our organizational website in collaboration with the fine folks at Beehive Design, Evermight, and Trip to the Moon. A big thanks to them and the rest of the WL team for all your hard work on this! I'm very proud of the new site and thrilled to share all the new features it offers: not only does it effectively promote our upcoming festivals, music series and talk events, it also has a section to house our research projects - including Reimagining Music Venues and Band Together - and also is now an online destination to document our history, and give you a window into the history of independent music in Toronto, as well.
Our show archive is now complete going back to our first show almost 24 years ago (!) - with more info, photos and ephemera on the way. And I'm especially proud of the Historical Timeline, with words and images written and curated by yours truly for each year and 5-year Swiftian "era" of our history. Thanks to the good people of TINI Music Co-op for your advice on archival practice for DIY artists and organizations.
